Alex Crevar is a journalist, editor, and consultant dedicated to responsible tourism. Reporting from the Balkans since the late 1990s, his writing appears in numerous publications, including The New York Times, National Geographic, Outside, Lonely Planet, Adventure Cyclist, The Washington Post, Paste, and Bicycling. He often speaks to the media as a sustainable travel expert, participates in conferences, lectures at universities, and advises organizations on best practices in the tourism industry.

Crevar regularly trains journalists, operators, tourism organizations, and DMOs through his Travel Narrative Design Workshop series, which helps refine authentic storytelling for effective product development and media coverage.

He was instrumental in the creation of the Via Dinarica, a hiking trail that forms a cultural corridor across eight Western Balkans countries in Southeastern Europe. Crevar is a mountaineer and cyclist whose belongings fit into one duffel. From Atlanta, Georgia, he lives in Zagreb, Croatia.
